The Head of UNMOGIP and Chief Military Observer, Rear Admiral Guillermo Pablo Ríos, visited UN field stations in Kotli, Bhimber and Sialkot from 5 to 13December 2022 to observe the situation along the Line of Control (LOC) as well as the work of UN military observers in the Area of Responsibility and their relations with local Pakistani Army authorities.

During his three-day stay in each field station, Rear Admiral Ríos accompanied the UN Military Observers during their operational tasks and training sessions.

The Head of UNMOGIP also met with the Brigade Commanders and staff of the Pakistani Army and discussed the implementation of UNMOGIP’s mandate. Rear Admiral Ríos and the Brigade Commanders toured military installations and thanked them for their support.
